Now I’m an over 40 fashion blogger and independent stylist. Until the pandemic, I was a personal fashion stylist for Nordstrom and offered style suggestions by appointment only. After 20 years at Nordstrom, I had a front-row seat to witnessing what some call the “death of the department store”. Now I share my styling expertise online for free. I might be a size 0 but most of my clients are not. The average size woman wears a size 12. My years in the fitting room at Nordstrom taught me what works best on all different body types, and I have yet to see two the same. The styling secret is knowing your numbers so you can manipulate your proportions to find the most flattering fits.
