HOW TO MIX HIGH LOW FASHION | FINDING YOUR STYLE

The key to finding your personal style and loving your look is learning the art of mix and match. A well-curated closet should host a variety of pieces you love on you at a variety of price points, from Target to Chanel. Take a look at some of the small brands I’m spotlighting in 2023 alongside some of my bucket list brand favorites HERE. The combinations will convey an effortless style that is uniquely yours.

“Opening up your closet should be like arriving at a really good party where everyone you see is someone you like.”

1 | SIGNATURE DESIGNER PIECES WITH BASIC CLOSET ESSENTIALS

Most big brands have design characteristics that make them recognizable. For example, Burberry is known for its plaid and Dole & Gabbana is famous for its florals. Choosing pieces with elements of a brand’s signature style gives value to your entire look regardless of the other pieces. Take inspiration from some of these signature prints when you’re choosing your next capsule wardrobe’s color story. Read more HERE.

High Low With Missoni

Missoni knits are known everywhere and have always been a personal favorite of mine because of all the fabulous colors they mix in their designs from scarves to dresses. These knits are even noticeable in black and white.

High Low With Versace

High-Low with Versace

Versace uses a greek key motif and Medusa’s head in many of their designs.  Donatella Versace said her brother’s reasoning for using Medusa’s head was “whoever falls in love with Medusa can’t flee from her.” Not a bad inspiration for a fashion label hoping to keep loyal wearers.

I regret not buying these leggings. They were so flattering and comfortable. Wear now with an inexpensive button-up and black sandals you can swap for a black pullover and boots later.

2 | ELEVATED ACCESSORIES WITH UPDATED STAPLES

Designer accessories are great because they are easy to work into any outfit, and sometimes easier to work into your budget when you consider the cost per wear. See how you can SAVE WITH A DESINGER BELT HERE. See how I converted the shoulder strap on this pink purse into a belt in this NEW POST featuring more double duty designer brands.

Accessories make magic out of an updated monochromatic outfit. This Chloe tote was my favorite tote this summer. It goes with everything. The Dior sandals were my best-selling designer shoe all season and are sure to be next year too.

My favorite styling staple is a blazer that fits perfectly like this one from Balmain (Size up). My best selling blazer of all time is this one that looks a lot like it, but for 1/3 the price. This fabric on this Balmain blazer is perfect year-round. Once you see how good it looks on you’ll never want to take it off. Pair back with trending straight-leg jeans and woven sandals for the perfect outfit.

Nude Shoes

High Low Styling with a Target Tee, Amazon Blazer, and Valentino Flats from my Ageless Spring Capsule Wardrobe 2022

Another styling staple I swear by is nude shoes with a neutral bag and belt that match. If you take good care of them, you’ll have them forever. This bag is reversible. Suede on one side and leather on the other. The most versatile flat you can own is a nude pointed-toe style that elongates your leg and goes with all your outfits.
