This week Nordstrom flew me to their best store to preview all of the products that are going to be sold in Nordstrom Stores for the #NSale next month. I’m here with my Nordstrom 6 friends and professional stylists to find out how things fit, what trends are taking over next, and what pieces you need to get on sale first. I’m spending 4 days doing what I do best, shopping, so naturally, I want to look my best too. The key is a capsule wardrobe that travels well with plenty of pieces that do double duty. I planned an outfit for each day but the pieces I’m taking allow me the flexibility to wear what I want if things change.

It’s important to be comfortable and stylish on the days you travel. If I’m not wearing a travel outfit with my favorite joggers, I often choose a comfortable tee shirt dress on the plane.

This summer I have a major closet crush on summer suits with a short option like this one from Open Edit. The pieces are so easy to wear together or separate for work or play.

My favorite outfit is still jeans and a white top. These crop flare jeans from Fidelity with subtle acid wash are my newest addition. They just got restocked in the light grey wash.

Neutral Animal Print Skirts

Neutral print pieces like a striped top or animal print skirt add some interest to your wardrobe capsules. Because my blazer is a little longer when I wear it with my pleated skirt I’ll button and belt it at my natural waist to visually start my leg line higher. Reversible belts are another great travel companion.

With all these double-duty pieces I’ll have plenty to pick from. Here are just two more outfits you can make with my mix. A graphic tee shirt always manages to make it into my suitcase. This time I’m taking an iconic Van Halen band tee that matches my lavender blazer and an XXL graphic tee shirt that doubles as a sleep shirt or swimsuit cover-up.
