RECREATE THE LOOK

CULT CARDIGANS

Don’t save your nice pieces for a special occasion.

When I’m helping clients in their closets, I’m always finding fabulous pieces hiding in bags and boxes, preserved for a special occasion.

Use your nice things. Wear them, ALL the time. It feels great!

See all the ways I styled this Gucci cardigan with Jennifer Kidwell in THIS POST.

From Gucci

From Nordstrom

Invest in at least one nice sweater each season and fill in with inexpensive one-season sweaters. You’ll be surprised how quickly your quality collection grows.

Jenni Kayne Cashmere

Short Cardiagans

Wear your short Cardigan solo with a pretty bralette or as a top.

V-necks are the most flattering, especially if you’re busty. They keep the eye moving vertically and open the neckline to show what’s underneath, even if it’s just a pretty necklace or bralette.

Try one over a slip dress this season.

TARGET CARDIGAN STYLED AS A PULLOVER

Wear your cardigan backward. This trick works with long or short cardigans.

Backward cardigans are so pretty. They look like a pullover in the front but are more playful in the back.

After spending some time in my Target cardigan, I know the investment in this super-soft cashmere version will be worth it.

SWEATERS THAT DO DOUBLE DUTY

This is the one my 5’9″ friend Danielle and I shared on Instagram together. It was only $79 and comes in black too.

Wear with the ties in front and open like a cardigan. Single loop then knot the ribbons and let them hang.

This is even better backward. Show a little more skin. This would be darling over a little black dress.

Try this one upside down. The banded waist transforms this sweater into an off-the-shoulder style.

LAYERING SWEATERS

Year after year these look great under your leather jacket or blazer.

Collect quality cashmere. You can’t beat the quality, feel, and price of Gobi Cashmere. All of their products are made from Mongolian cashmere, the highest quality cashmere fibers in the world! Cashmere’s quality is determined by microns (length and thinness). Compared to the industry average of 19 microns, Gobi’s Mongolian cashmere is the longest and thinnest ranging from 13-14 microns.

WHAT SWEATERS LOOK BEST ON YOUR BODY

It’s easiest to make outfits that look great on you when you add any of the sweaters in this post to my 11 piece capsule wardrobe. If you have these 2 jean styles you’ll be able to create a ton of different outfits.

Remember you never want your clothes to cut you in half. Pay attention to where your sweater stops.

A cropped sweater works well over a midi-dress, high-waisted pants, or a skirt. It visually starts your waistline higher and elongates your legs. Now instead of 50/50, you’re closer to 2/3rd and 1/3.

IF YOU HAVE A TUMMY
