How to Dress Better | 3 New Fall Outfits Having More Than a Moment

We all want to stay current which isn’t always easy. How do we dress better when fashion trends aren’t the only things that change and influence our style? With lifestyles and bodies that change too, it helps to have an expert’s input. I follow fashion and these 3 new fall outfit formulas, having more than a moment, may be all you need to stay current and feel good about your personal style. Each of these outfits is made with current combinations of classic closet essentials.

HOW TO DRESS BETTER WITH BALLET FLATS

This classic is making a comeback and every IT girl is crushing on it. This charming style from Sam Edelman was part of the Nordstrom 6 September Drop. It has a cushy footbed and is so comfortable. A two-tone chanel-inspired style is my personal pick.

From My Carryon Capsule Lookbook

Ballet flats work really well in my new carryon capsule wardrobe. Two-tone styles that are skin tone with the exception of the toe help elongate the leg the best by continuing it as far as possible down the foot. If you don’t want to wear your ballet flats with something short, ballet flats look the best with slim-ankle pants. Don’t be afraid to mix it up and try a cool leather or vegan leather legging with a classic flat.

HOW TO DRESS BETTER WITH FLARE JEANS

Did you know that flare jeans are the most universally flattering jean style for all body types? Flare jeans vary in leg shape and length but are all a little wider at the hem or opening. Wider flares usually come with a higher rise which helps elongate the leg and balance a wider opening.

This fall and winter I recommend wearing wide-leg flares with a short blazer or cropped jacket and block-heel boots. Take my free jean quiz to find the best “high-rise” flare fit for your body.

HOW TO DRESS BETTER WITH A JEAN SKIRT

Jean Skirts. Rember these? I’m pretty sure we all had at least one jean skirt outfit in our youth. Mine was barely fingertip length and from the Wet Seal. A jean skirt proves fashion at any age is for everyone. This new and improved closet essential is part of my weekly outfits and one of eight key pieces in my First Look at Fall Capsule.

There are so many ways to style one but back to bare legs and boots is my favorite.
