Trench coats are great for travel. They go with any outfit, always look chic, and protect you from the wind and rain. I took my black Sam Edelman trench coat to Ireland last year and wore it every day. I just found this black slightly longer style at the Nordstrom Rack.

This classic bootcut jean style from AG has been a go-to for years. The long style is on my First Look at Fall Capsule Wardrobe Checklist. It looks best with pointed-toe boots or heels. The ankle-length styles are a fun way to show off all the shoes that are trending this fall.

Instead of stopping at the ankle, look for boot styles with a high shaft that tucks all the way under the cropped inseam. Sometimes suede sticks to your jeans. Leather boots work better with a classic 16-19″ bootcut opening.
