The Nordstrom Brands I’d Buy at the Rack Instead

The Anniversary Sale is over. The good deals on my favorite Nordstrom brands aren’t.

I recommend a lot of these brands at full price. Veronica Beard, FRAME, Paige, MOTHER, L’AGENCE, Vince and rag & bone. They’re brands I know, wear and come back to because I know what they do well.

So when I shop Nordstrom Rack, I’m not looking for random deals. I’m looking for the brands, jean styles and closet essentials I already know are worth buying, and finding some of them for more than 50% off makes them even easier to recommend.

Right now, that includes a Veronica Beard blazer for 56% off, FRAME jeans in three of my favorite styles, Paige, MOTHER and AG jeans, Madewell clothes and accessories, L’AGENCE and Vince blazers, rag & bone favorites, designer finds from Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana, and of course some really good shoes.

Knowing what’s worth buying at full price makes spotting it for half price a whole lot easier.

The Name-Brand Jeans I’d Buy at the Rack

FRAME Jeans

I have 26 years of experience styling jeans, and I still get excited when I find FRAME at these prices.

High Waist Barrel — $119.97, was $268 | 55% off

The best barrel jean I’ve ever tried. Period. If you’ve wanted to try the barrel trend but haven’t found a pair that makes you understand the hype, start here.

Le Slim Palazzo High Waist Wide Leg — $119.97, was $248 | 51% off

If you loved the Paige Anessa jeans I wore all summer in Italy, this is the pair to grab. The cut and measurements are nearly identical: high rise, wide leg, and that flattering shape that works with everything from a fitted tank to an oversized cropped button-up.

Le Cropped Mini Boot — $89.97, was $198 | 54% off

These are the cropped jeans for shoe lovers. Wear it with sandals now, then swap them for boots in September. Same jeans. New season.

MOTHER Jeans

This is the MOTHER jean style I swore I’d pick if I could only wear one pair of jeans for the rest of my life. They are so flattering; MOTHER makes them in petite sizes.

This version has the same fit I already love, with an adorable red embroidered bow and a fun little kick slit at the side. I found a MOTHER blouse at the Rack that matches them perfectly too.

I bought the entire outfit for less than the original price of the jeans alone.

Paige Jeans

I’m officially done with short shorts.

I’m trading them in for the culottes I wore as a kid and not looking back. I especially love this chalk white pair from Paige—and at 63% off, I love them even more.

And sometimes I get lucky enough to find the Anessa at the Rack. AKA the jeans that fit everyone. They’re one of the styles I recommend over and over, so finding them at Rack prices is always worth checking for.

Madewell Jeans

I found a look for less for the AGOLDE jeans I adore (video above), plus Madewell’s famous barrel-leg jeans I featured in my European Summer Travel Capsule. Both are under $100.

Madewell is a brand I keep reaching for when I don’t want to spend $200+ on jeans but still want the same current styles.

These cropped wide-leg jeans went viral last summer when I first found them. They remind me of a very similar pair from MOTHER, and right now you can get them for 45% off and under $100.

More Madewell

Madewell makes more than affordable denim alternatives. These pieces may look familiar because I’ve shared many of them at regular price. I especially love their belts and bags, and there are some really good ones at the Rack right now.

The Name-Brand Closet Essentials I’d Buy at the Rack

You get to a point in life when you realize you deserve nice things. You don’t need a lot of them. Just a few versatile pieces you love wearing and can dress up or down.

A great blazer is one of those pieces. Veronica Beard, Vince, and La Gence make the kind I come back to because they’re tailored to fit and flatter. The fabrics don’t have that cheap shine; they hold their shape, flatter yours, and they still look good wear after wear.

Veronica Beard

These are the name brands I’m willing to spend more on, which makes finding them for 50% off or more at the Rack that much better.

The Shoes I’d Buy at the Rack

You can’t talk about Nordstrom without talking about shoes. After 20 years working there, I still believe the right shoes can make the outfit.

Marc Fisher is one of those brands I recommend over and over because they get the trends right without the designer price tag. I found several of my favorites at the Rack, including styles I’ve already shared with you at regular price.

Designer Finds Hiding at the Rack

Designer bucket-list brands are the cornerstone of my high-low style strategy, and one of my favorite things to find at the Rack. Givenchy scarves in iconic logo prints are a little piece of luxury without the full luxury price tag—and make a fabulous gift.

Then there are the hidden gems. Dolce & Gabbana nail polish, anyone? For the fashion friend who already has everything. Or yourself. I won’t tell.

The best part about shopping the Rack? The hunt is never really over. New name brands, designer finds, and pieces I’ve recommended at full price are always showing up.
