1. DARK DENIM

Classic dark denim is making comeback this season. The saturated hue feels good in the fall and also looks great with all of the other bright happy hues that are on-trend.

A crop flare style creates new silhouettes that look different than a standard “jean” outfit would.

They are also great jeans to show off your fall footwear from boots to flats.

2. STRAIGHT LEG JEAN

These are the must-have jean of the season.

Find your perfect fit. Choose a style that stops right about the ankle. For most of us, that’s about 27″. That length is the most versatile because it goes with all your shoes.

Here are a few of my best sellers.

3. CREW NECK TEE SHIRT

I recommend having several white tee shirts in different fits and necklines in your wardrobe. For fall I love a crew neck tee because it shows really well layered and doesn’t compete with other necklines.

4. WHITE BUTTON UP

This is my current favorite wardrobe staple because it can be styled in so many different ways.

If you already have a classic button-up try an oversized silhouette or bow neck. Both would be fantastic this fall.

5. CAMISOLE

I just shared 17 CAMISOLE OUTFIT IDEAS in this post.

Camisoles, especially those that accommodate a bra or have adjustable straps, are the perfect piece to add a little femininity to your outfit. They are just as easy to dress down as they are to dress up. Look at all the outfits you could make with just one top.

6. BLAZER

This is one of my 6 styling staples all year long. A well-fitted blazer can make an outfit.

For the most flattering fit, look for one that fits your shoulders, tacks at your armpit, and nips at your waist.

A quality blazer can be expensive, but worth the extra money. The weight of the fabric makes a big difference in the fit. Details like smooth seams and quality buttons really show in person.

Invest in one of these and after a short time, you will see your cost per wear will justify the higher price tag.

I just go this one from Veronica Beard in black. It never goes on sale, but if you sign up for their emails you can get over $100 off!

7. LEATHER JACKET

This piece represents a fashionable ageless style. Check out my post HERE to see more on THE BEST MOTORCYCLE JACKET and my favorite new wardrobe addition.

The last option here has gold-tone hardware and is available in brown. It also comes in petite sizes so you can avoid expensive alterations.

8. CROPPED CARDIGAN

A cropped cardigan is one of the best pieces to pick during transitional weather.

The shorter shape works well with crop flare jeans. The shorter silhouette also helps you keep your shape over a dress and avoid looking 50/50.

Transform one into a pullover sweater when you style it buttoned up and backward like this. Get all your sweaters situated HERE.

9. SLIP DRESS

Talk about versatility. A slip dress is the queen. These slip-dress outfits will make you want to give up pants.

This dress can be styled in so many ways! If it’s cut on the bias with adjustable straps like this one then it’s universally flattering too.

Pop a sweater over it to transfer it into a skirt. Put a crew neck tee shirt under it to dress it down or wear it to a wedding!

10. DAINTY HEELS

It’s no shock heels are a secret weapon to finishing an outfit looking taller, leaner, and in better proportion. Choose your ideal height in a dainty pair of stiletto sandals, pumps, or boots that fit your lifestyle.

11. BOOTS

For fall the best boots are the ones that go with all your jeans and even look good with dresses.

The secret is the shape. Look for styles like these that are fitted to the foot so they don’t chop you up, fight with your jean hem, or add bulk. Check out this example I made using two boots with the same heel and same toe, but two totally different fits.

12. DESIGNER BAG

Every outfit benefits from a beautiful bag. This piece is part of every outfit. Shop my complete Designer Handbag Directory HERE. YSL gives you a lot of bag for your buck. With a variety of styles including many sizes, hardware choices, and textures you are sure to find one you love.

They offer a beautiful brown and the perfect shade of nude.
