This a Woman’s Top Priority
If you have all the right jeans you can make an outfit for any occasion. These are the tops essential to every woman’s wardrobe. They are also the most versatile tops because they can be styled in multiple ways, and easily dressed up or down. Make having them all within reach a top priority and you’ll never be stuck wondering what to wear.
1 | Classic Button Up
An oversized silhouette is the most modern and the easiest to style. I just found my new favorite classic white oversized button-up. I wear this staple a lot so I’m extremely picky. This style from Spanx comes in XS-3X. It’ made with a superfine 120/2 cotton yarn. If you’re looking for a wrinkle free fabric try a synthetic blend with polyester. You’re gonna love this style with high-low shirtail hem so much you may want the baby blue or classic striped style too.

2 | White Tee
This crew neck in cotton slub material allows for a little transparency which shows a bit of body through the shirt and prevents it from looking boxy on a bigger upper half. It also tacks slightly on the sides, has slits, and has a flattering sleeve length for large and small busts.
Favorites From Frame
A v-neck top is universally flattering. This generous-cut style has been mercerized to give it a little sheen that makes it easy to dress up. I’d consider the black-and-white wardrobe staples. I’m wearing an XS in the black which was one of the 8 key pieces in my First Look at Fall Capsule last year. This top pairs perfectly with a blazer or under a vest.

3 | Ribbed Tank
The secret in finding a tank top that works with or without curves is landing on a style that’s ribbed and is made with a fabric like this. You can size down down. The fabric is thick and stretchy, with a high 3% spandex. I never thought I’d spend this much on a tank top but this one is a 10/10.

4 | Camisole Top
A silky camisole top that kisses but doesn’t cling to your body is fashionable and flattering on everyone. A spaghetti strap camisole with adjustable straps looks the best. Make the best of this base layer on a cool cardigan or blazer. This style from Vince is the gold standard. It’s made of the same washable crinkle satin that my best-selling slip dress is and can be purchased with a matching monochromatic slip skirt!

5 | Short Blouse
The perfect short summer blouse only requires your favorite pair of jeans to make it into an effortlessly stylish outfit. Shorter styles look good with a skirt or high rise wide-leg jeans which are trending now. I recommend at least one blouse every summer. It will really help your entire summer wardrobe look fresh and new. I just found some pretty new periwinkle blouses at Anthropologie and I’m always a sucker for stripes in the summer.

6 | Graphic Tee
Celebrities hunker down at the coffee shop in them. Models and fashionistas wear them front row at fashion week. My personal collection almost makes a daily appearance. There are so many stylish ways for women over 40 to wear them. It all boils down to what you when them with. You can make a $12 T-shirt look expensive by wearing it with designer shoes and accessories or elevated basics like leather pants or a Veronica Beard blazer.
