I’LL NEVER STOP BUYING BLACK AND WHITE FASHION
Black and white fashion undeniably accounts for the most real estate in my closet, and I don’t regret buying one thing. Because it will always be in style, some of my most expensive items are black and white. Likewise, I have made many outfits with inexpensive black and white pieces from Target, Amazon, and Walmart mixed with designer brands. Black and white clothes will be your best friend if you love mixing prints and wearing lots of color. If you consider your style minimalistic, then a well curated closet of black and white may be all you ever need. Even though my style is very “black and white”, I’m never bored or can’t find something to wear. Use my personal style strategy to make more black and white outfits you will love too.
BLACK AND WHITE FASHION PRINTS
When you’re making an outfit consider black and white prints neutral. Neutral prints play well with other prints. If you love color, black and white will go with any one you choose.
Two Tips to Mixing Prints
Black and white prints are the easiest to mix and layer. Remember opposites attract.
- Keep the proportion in mind. Small scale prints look the best with big ones
- Geometric patterns play well with organic shapes and motifs.

If you don’t think you can wear a striped top, try an open neckline or vertical stripe instead of horizontal.
Black and White Animal Print
Leopards need their spotted coats for camouflage. These busy prints can camouflage us too. A black and white animal print swimsuit distracts the eyes and keeps them from resting on any lumps or bumps that tend show more in a solid suit.
