Confidence in your style comes from feeling good in what you’re wearing. I’m a former Nordstrom stylist and 3 fashion tips I share have gone viral. Ageless style incorporates colors that excite you, lots of layers, and jeans that make other women stop and say “I’ll have what she’s wearing”.
FASHION TIP #1 | HOT SETS MAKE AN OUTFIT COOLER
When it comes to making an outfit cooler everyone can appreciate hot “sets”. Impactful color statements in multiples of two can transform an ordinary outfit. Seek out shoes and accessories in a color that excites you or you always get compliments on. As your color capsules grow it will be easier for you to add the right pieces to make an outfit that truly manifests your style.
Add Color to These Capsules
You can use this fashion tip to transform a monochromatic capsule or black and white wardrobe.
FASHION TIP # 2 | EVERY STYLISH WOMAN DOES THIS
Learn to layer if you want to be that woman who always looks effortlessly pulled together. Fall and winter are the best seasons to use this fashion tip. You can never have too many versions of these ageless-style staples.
I’ve had my Veronica Beard Miller Blazer for years, and I still wear it all the time with casual and dressy outfits. It’s the most flattering blazer on all body types. The Miller is my quality go-to blazer when I want to make a high-low look work.
You’ll find lots of blazer outfits in my Classic Fashion Capsule lookbook and my Street Style Capsule Wardrobe coming out later this month.
Blazers for Every Outfit
If you could only own one blazer I’d pick the Veronica Bead Miller because it goes with more outfits than any other style, even hard-to-coordinate styles like midi skirts and wide-leg crop pants. However, having a variety of colors, fabrications, and fits keeps all of your outfits from looking the same. The goal is a closet full of different blazer styles that all work well on your body type.
A classic trench coat is one ageless fashion staple that you could add to any wardrobe checklist and the hero in my new carry-on capsule wardrobe. You can wear a trench over any business casual outfit or throw one over your favorite sweats and Converse sneakers. A Burberry trench is the ultimate high-low fashion staple for your fall and winter looks.

3. Leather Jacket
This wardrobe staple seems to look better the older it is. Throw a cool leather jacket or vegan leather jacket over jeans and a white tee or an ultra-feminine cocktail dress.
This year I recommend adding a cropped leather jacket, like I did, to your collection too. This sassy shape looks great with wide-leg jeans and prairie dresses.
Make sure you’re subscribed to closetchoreography.com to get to full roundup of shopping links for the leather jackets I’m adding to my Street Style Capsule Wardrobe.

4. Denim Jacket
This is that piece that transcends just one generation and instantly adds a cool casual vibe to any outfit. Premium denim, like this style from Fidelity, looks great over a sexy slip-dress.
Once you have your classic style covered, expand your jean jacket arsenal with colored or embellished styles. A cropped, oversized. A white jean jacket is one of 9 key pieces in my recently updated Ageless Spring Capsule Wardrobe and 2023 Simple Summer Custom Capsule Wardrobe.
Try an oversized jean jacket now over stylish sweats.
FASHION TIP #3 | BE WILLING TO DITCH YOUR DENIM
Confidence in your style comes from feeling good in what you’re wearing. When you find jeans that fit your body and you feel great in you’ll always have something to wear. Ditch denim that doesn’t fit and is dated. Remember size is a number on a tag that no one sees but you. Take my FREE Jean Quiz. I’ll send you a list of links to the newest jeans styles that will fit you the best.
