1. Palazzo Pant
Palazzo pants are the perfect pants to wear when it’s warm. All the styles I chose are made with fabrics that don’t easily wrinkle and work on a plane, pool, or party! The elastic waist makes them super comfy. Pick a print to inspire the color story for your capsule or a versatile neutral.

If you left your packing until the last minute & don’t have time for alterations you can snag a pair of perfectly cropped palazzo pants from Change of Scenery. This high-rise drawstring style looks good with heels and a crop top too.
These printed polyester pants by Darrablu sold at Nordstrom are virtually wrinkle-free and run long. They have a 31″ inseam.
2. Swimsuit-Bodysuit
Most of us don’t look forward to swimsuit shopping, so when you have take time to shop for a style with staying power. I usually recommend a printed swimsuit, but for this capsule, I’m suggesting a solid that you can also style like a bodysuit. Having pieces that do double duty, even a swimsuit, will give you the most resort casual outfits.

4. White Dress
When it’s warm, a white dress is just as versatile as a little black one. Choose a loose style that you can toss over your swimsuit or wear with structural sandals to dinner at alfresco. A white dress is the most versatile resort casual outfit canvas and can be styled so many different ways.

5. Ribbed White Tank
A ribbed white tank is one of my new wardrobe checklist staples and a closet essential I always pack. The most flattering styles have square or halter necklines. Wear one solo when it’s hot or as an extra layer on the airplane when it’s cold.

7. Distressed Jeans
Hopefully, by now you’ve taken my jean quiz and found the best styles for your body type. Get a distressed pair for that laid-back beachy vibe. If you’re not a fan of purpose rips consider trying a light wash with a raw hem.

8. Shorts Set
The long and short of it is that a matching set of any kind makes a great travel essential. Together the pieces look pulled together and require no brain damage to assemble. My favorite sets include a hoodie. I love wearing hoodies as an in-between or last layer. Shorts sets make great coverups.

9. Sculptural Heels
Standout heels are making a fashion statement this season and are one of the hottest accessory trends this year. VINCE makes a few. The Nordstrom 6 chose a VINCE sandal as one of our six February Drop. These stylish sandals are comfortable too. A low or mid-heel is the most versatile in this capsule. It will be dressy enough out to dinner with your white dress but casual enough to wear with the distressed jeans.

10. Woven Bag
Woven bags are pretty and practical. They add personality and style to a simple outfit like a little white dress, or distressed jeans and a white tank. I love a classic raffia tote. This year I’m adding a colorful plastic version for a pop of color. I found great options from designer brands to Amazon finds under $60!
