NEW JEAN STYLES | TRENDS TO TRY IN 2024
No matter what fashion style you have, keeping your jeans wardrobe updated is crucial to staying current. Detox dated denim and refresh your rotation with new jean styles. Here are two new jean trends I’ve tested so you can try them in 2024. They can work for women of all ages, stages, shapes, and styles. Supersized silhouettes are showing up everywhere, but they aren’t for everyone. This is how I style trending barrel leg jeans for my 74-year-old mom and I. I also made some simple outfits with ivory, ecru, or cream jeans you can wear this winter and spring.
NEW BARREL LEG JEAN STYLES

Ageless Style
New jean styles, worn with classic closet essentials can interject some life back into your wardrobe if it lacks luster.
My mom and I are both 5’4”. My Free People jeans are a size 25 and hers are a 28. We are wearing this classic white button-up from Nordstrom for under $60 in a size extra small and small. I have on an extra small and she’s wearing a large in the Spanx faux leather leggings.
Free People Under $100
All of these Free People washes come with a 12.12″ high rise and 26″ cropped inseam. Size down for the best fit.
Fab Fit Under $100
Citizens of Humanity Horseshoe Jeans
If you can find your size in stock these jeans have a similar fit to Free People but this style has a super high 13.25″ rise and 27″ inseam.

Barrel-leg jeans are designed to fit full through the legs and taper at the opening. If you are petite consider a style like the ones from Rag & Bone or Frame that aren’t as full through the legs. Also, this is a high-rise style that should sit at or above your belly button, but if you don’t have the space then look for a shorter rise like these 10″ from Rag & Bone or 11.5″ From Agolde.
