How You, Your Niece, and Your nana can style a Barn Jacket street style

The difference between an influencer and a professional stylist is that an influencer shows you what looks good on them, while a stylist shows you what looks good on you! I’m a 45-year-old fashion blogger and right now I’m inspired by a street style trend I’m seeing everywhere so I’ve decided to show everyone from your niece to your Nana how to style a barn jacket this season using the best high-low mix of brands.

What’s A Barn Jacket

Barn jackets are usually weather-resistant, sometimes quilted, and have a collar. Burberry, Barbour, and Carhartt continue to make these jackets a wardrobe staple for fall. This season I found the look for less at Old Navy, J.Crew, and Amazon.

Barn Jacket Wide Leg Jeans and A Tee

Street style is oversized and slouchy. I recommend modifying the look by wearing wide-leg jeans with less than a 20″ opening and hemming or buying them ankle length. I had these from MOTHER on in the petite length. Get them in regular length here.

Winter white jeans or cords are a great option.

I used both of these layering tops in more than one look.

Style an oversized button-up under your barn jacket and over a tee shirt.

The first one is the one I was wearing. You can always borrow from the boys too.

Skip your skinny jeans tucked into tall boots and wear sporty leggings and a baseball hat pumpkin picking instead

Barn Jackets & Skirts

Don’t be afraid to style something that’s typically considered “casual” with something opposite like a lace skirt.

Sometimes a short shirt is easy to wear with a longer barn jacket and doesn’t fight with your proportions like a longer skirt can. I always wear my short skirts with sneakers or flats to keep the vibe effortless and casual.
