Prep Before You Party
Be a glow-getter this holiday season and take the time to prep before you party. We all know the importance of keeping our skin clean and hydrated, especially in the winter. Here are a few of my personal favorite clean beauty winter essentials.
I’m obsessed with Colleen Rothschild’s face oil. It instantly hydrates and improves my skin’s texture without feeling heavy or greasy. I use it morning and night. Image’s Vital C serum is my favorite vitamin C serum and I never go to bed without their Ormedic lip treatment.
Prep With a Pro
I recently took my skincare to the next level with clinical treatments from licensed esthetician and celebrity skin care specialist Jason Dobb. The results after just one microdermabrasion facial were so good just that just hours after my first facial I actually got hate messages claiming I was lying about not wearing any makeup! Now I’m hooked.
Benefits Of a Professional Facial
- Better products – Estheticians like Jason use back-bar products with professional-grade products like high-efficacy enzymes.
- High-tec tools like diamond tip microdermabrasion machines and nano channeling pens give you noticeable results faster.
- Results backed by research – A passionate esthetician like Jason keeps up with all of the new product knowledge and learns the most effective techniques.
Pro Beauty Tip
“As we get closer to the winter months, it is even more important to make sure your exfoliation game is on point! See your Esthetician for a chemical peel, microdermabrasion treatment, dermaplane or hydroderm treatment to jump start your exfoliation journey. These treatments will leave you with healthy, glowing and hydrated skin ready for all of your party-ready holiday makeup looks!”Jason Dobb. Licensed Esthetician. Sacramento, Ca
Special Occasion Makeup
I’m an expert stylist, but don’t claim to be a beauty blogger. My everyday beauty routine is short and sweet, but I wanted some easy makeup tips I could tackle that would take it to the next level this holiday. After my last facial, I asked Jason pretty please, if he would “make me pretty please”. Here are a few of his expert tips and my new favorite products to help you get the look.
Pro Beauty Tip
“Pops of color are perfect for the holidays! For a bold but easy look, try wiggling a gel eyeliner underneath and in-between your lashes to make your eyes sparkle and pop!Jason Dobb. Licensed Esthetician. Sacramento, Ca
I keep a maracuja lip gloss in my car, desk, bathroom, and purse pocket. I wear them all day because they are vegan and free from parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten.
My favorite sheer colors are rose and white peach. Jason used the new tingly Marcuja juicy lip plump to prepare my pout before applying his favorite Nars velvet matte lip pencil in Cruella red.
Pro Beauty Tip
Picking a holiday-ready red lip may seem difficult, but, look for a neutral red! My go-to that looks good on everyone is the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella.Jason Dobb. Licensed Esthetician. Sacramento, Ca
Highlight & Contour
Jason shared some great beauty tips for achieving a glowing complexion even with aging skin. He said “Glitter and glow are two different things and don’t go ham on the highlighter. ” Be a glow getter and apply light reflecting makeup, like Tartes clay play palette, that blurs fine lines rather than highlighting them.
Jason also swears by this vegan face and body bronzer. He said its foolproof neutral (not orange) shade is “great for sculpting as well as bronzing and its waterproof formula can be used on your face or body.”
Perfect your look head to toe, literally. You may want to use Color Wow’s root touch-up in your hair. “It also works great to fill in a thin scalp or severe part.” Jason says you can avoid “flashback” or awkward highlights on your face, especially in photos, by using a good sheer setting powder. His favorite is from Makeup Forever. You can get it here. “Don’t forget to blend some bronzer into your hairline to keep your makeup looking natural and seamless.”
