It’s easier than you think to achieve a cool girl over 40 style. I’m an over-40 fashion blogger. These are 3 borrowed from the boys closet essentials that I’m wearing and so is my mom! The most stylish women I know are confident and comfortable in their skin and in their clothes. Classic wardrobe staples that never go out of style, like a bomber jacket, cargo pants, and Converse sneakers look good on women of all ages and naturally have a relaxed esthetic.
Bomber Jackets For Women
Bomber jackets for women are the bomb! If you know what that means then you are at least as old as I am. I remember wearing my Dad’s leather bomber jacket to school as a fashion statement. Now, I have several bomber jackets of my own, and I’m still making a fashion statement when I wear them. This time, hopefully it looks a lot less like I’m trying. It’s all about what you wear with a women’s bomber jacket and how you style it so that you look cool, but not like your trying.
My two favorite ways to wear a women’s bomber is back to an athleisure outfit or to add an unexpected “casual” vibe to a “dressy” look.
Last fall I got this bomber jacket under $40 from Walmart. I wore it over leather shorts and a blouse during the holidays. This summer I styled it for an athleisure event in LA. Everyone looks good in jeans and Converse sneakers. I love cropped wide-leg jeans and high-top Converse. Unlike regular sneakers, which can be a bit bulky with wide-leg jeans, Converse sneakers are flattering with cropped jeans because they have an almond-shaped toe and are fitted to your foot.
