Here are some outfits from two of my most popular sale capsule wardrobes. The jeans and brown cashmere sweater I used to build the brown base I used to make outfits around in this capsule are out of stock, but these bootcut jeans are on sale and still available. They are a universally flattering style that looks best with a bit of heel or boot. The platform boots I’m wearing sold out in most sizes, but I got these with a little lower heel and LOVE them. Most of the simple brown tops and sweaters I chose are sold out, but this Emily in Paris Inspired top is available and my first choice. This capsule isn’t complete without a cool chocolate brown bag and the best styles sold fast. However I have been loving the Italian leather designer inspired bags like this large woven tote and this slouchy suede tote under $150 from Quince.
I’m shocked the ultra-versatile Veronica Beard blazer and navy blouse in this capsule are still available. Sadly the lightwash MOTHER jeans that can be styled with or without a cuff sold out. However, they are so fabulous, I recommend them at regular price. You can purchase them here and explore these alternatives at Nordstrom. This flutter-sleeve sweater is almost sold out. This head-to-toe ivory outfit anchor is the best base for a capsule wardrobe you can start wearing right now. I tried dozens of ivory jeans to find the most flattering fits, and these 3 are my favorite. This pair from AG is 50% off. There are plenty of pretty ivory tops on sale and in stock, including the one I’m wearing, this one I just ordered, and this one from Veronica Beard.
Look for Layers
The selection of classic and fashionable layering pieces included in this sale was so good! My favorite brown leather jacket sold out, but these are the best of the rest.

The Veronica Beard ivory jeans on the Anniversary Sale this year don’t fit well, but this barrel leg style I’m wearing does, and it just got marked down. If you are between sizes, I’d size down in them. I also love the fit on this straight leg style, you can cuff or leave long.

Jeans are the most important staple to update each season, and the one wardrobe staple we wear the most.
Dark Denim
This classic wide-leg style is universally flattering and last year’s number one wide-leg jean style. If you’re looking for a petite cropped wide-leg style, this one is available for under $60. For all the long ladies, Frame makes this style with an extra-long 32″ inseam and 12.5″ rise. Visually elongate your upper body by wearing jeans that sit below your belly button, like this classic wide leg style from Paige with a 9.5″ rise.
Jeans With a Cuff
This pair is under $100 and comes in petite lengths. I included this style from Rag & Bone in my Feeling Blue Capsule Wardrobe last spring. They run big, so size down. Choose this cuff style if you prefer a classic, wide-leg jean that isn’t overly stretchy. Mother makes this versatile, light-wash style that can be worn with or without a cuff.
Colored Denim
These chocolate brown, wide-leg jeans will sell out quickly. However, leopard print works as a good neutral, too. These are on sale for under $100, and so is this long, wide leg style, but it runs big. FRAME’s best-selling slim palazzo in this pretty olive grove color is on sale now, too.
Low Rise Baggy Jeans
This fall marks the official comeback of the low-rise baggy jean. You can score a new pair from your favorite jean brands like AG and Rag & Bone. How do you wear them the second or third time around? Watch this.
Extended Sizes
It’s always a plus when you can buy jeans online that fit your body and don’t need any alterations. The first row all come in petite lengths, which is especially helpful if you’re shopping for cropped jeans or jeans with a cuff.
If you don’t have a lot of length in your torso, consider jeans with a “lower rise” that won’t come way up over your belly button. This pretty dark denim style from Paige has a 9.5″ rise, even though the online description says “high waist”. At 10″, Paige’s Anessa also sits a little lower. Mother makes petite sizes in some of their most popular styles, but this flare leg style on the sale with a lower 9.5″ rise works well for petite frames.
If you’re lucky and long, try these sale styles. With a long 33″ inseam and 12.5” rise, Pistola’s Lana is a long lady’s dream wide leg jean. AG’s flare leg Farrah comes with a long 32″ inseam. Paige is offering this pretty light blue wide-leg style with an 11.75″ rise on the sale too.
